Bio

This Rhode Islander’s mix of smooth vocals & upbeat acoustic instrumentals is taking the Northeast by storm.

Drawing inspiration from an array of genres and artists, Mel’s sound is an intriguing blend of experimental Pop Folk with a dash of spunk, touch of twang & a whole lot of soul.

Often likened to the stylings of Joni Mitchell and Bonnie Raitt, Mel frequently revieces praise from listeners for her healing voice & poetic lyrical work.

Mel, who has been making music her whole life, began her professional career performing at venues all around her home-cities of Newport, Rhode Island and Boston, MA.

She’s since been invited to take the stages of the Live Local Music & Arts Festival, historic Jane Pickens Theatre and the Firehouse Theatre to name a few.

Mel is associated with (performing alongside or in support of) many notable bands including the Z-Boys, Jason Spooner Band and The Viennagram.

With a formal background in music, Mel has found a way to apply her education to her own artistic vision to deliver a sound that can only be described as refreshing.

Her debut release, ‘Women’ has garnered wide recognition and received generous airplay on local college radios.

Be on the lookout for what’s to come with this songstress.
